Your View: Jetty Road Glenelg Draft Masterplan

Phase 3 engagement is now closed

Thank you for all of your comments and for visiting the project team at our drop-in sessions. Your feedback is now being collated and reviewed to inform final changes to the Masterplan.

You may still view copies of the Draft Masterplan Report and the shorter Design Summary Report and all documents related to the project to date can be found under related documents. The documents explain how we developed the draft Masterplan as well as background information about Jetty Road Glenelg.

Next Steps

The feedback received in the third and final phase of engagement is being analysed and the project team is determining what changes are required to the Masterplan as a result. The engagement results and proposed changes to the Masterplan will be presented to Council at a workshop in December. Following the outcomes of this workshop the Jetty Road Glenelg Masterplan document will be finalised and presented to council for endorsement in early 2018.

What is the project about?

Planning alone will not make Jetty Road ‘sing’. A commitment to community involvement and response will allow Jetty Road to become an even more active place of meaning and connection that contributes towards the cultural environment and economic life of Glenelg and to metropolitan Adelaide.

The Masterplan for Jetty Road Glenelg intends to establish a planning and design framework that will guide future works while maintaining the historical and distinctive character of the street. This includes the proposal of new interventions to enhance the street function and attractiveness as a destination.

This includes proposed upgrades to enhance the street function and attractiveness as a destination over the next 5 – 10 years, with the intention of a future proof design that will enable the Jetty Road precinct to maintain its longevity into the next 30 years.

Engagement Undertaken

The project has undergone significant engagement over three phases throughout 2017. The types of engagement activities undertaken include community days (at Sidewalk Sunday Chapel Street, Winter wonderland in Moseley square), drop-in sessions and pop-up shop at 71 jetty Road Glenelg, business information sessions, workshops meetings, online forums, surveys and more. Three formal engagement phases throughout the year allowed the collection of more specific feedback as the project progressed, as follows:

Phase 1 - Initial Visioning and Seeking Ideas - 19 March - 31 May 2017

Phase 2 - Feedback on Draft Concepts - 13 July - 14 August 2017

Phase 3 - Feedback on the Draft Masterplan - 10 October - 13 November 2017
